Robme, You Sly Dog You

When I first read in the News & Record that City Council had passed an ordinance allowing the City to loan the owners of empty big box retail stores to borrow money from the City to renovate those old pole barns even though they had no tenants and would need to renovate again to meet the new tenants needs I thought Mayor Robme Perkins had flipped his lid. And my buddy, George weren't none too happy either.

Then it hit me.

When these developers default on the loans as some of them almost certainly will, the City of Greensboro will take possession of the empty big box stores and place them up for sale dirt cheap. And who will the commercial realtor be who sells these buildings for the City of Greensboro? None other than Robme's own NAI Piedmont. Now the only question is, which of Greensboro's commercial building owners are in on the deal with Robme with pockets flush with cash and which ones are dumb enough to take out the loans?

And how long will it be before Robme figures out how to screw those with pockets full of cash?
