Does Greensboro support a Greensboro Performing Arts Center? Real Progress For Greensboro Member Jim Morrone did a bit of research on the GPAC social networking efforts as of yesterday, November 29th, 2012 and here's what he found.
"So, I'm a bit of a numbers nerd. It's intrigued me how little public support the GPAC really has, at least in the online world. For instance:
Facebook page created Feb 13: 194 "likes"; last post: Oct 29
Twitter account created Feb 14: 241 "followers"; last Tweet: Oct 17
iPetition "Show Your Support" page created Oct 11: 84 "signatures", the last 6 clearly spam, so really 78. The last signature was Oct 26 by Melissa Wolverton...
Clearly in the world of social media, there is no interest in a GPAC."
Might I remind you that while I am one of GPAC's Twitter followers, I am clearly not a supporter. My alter-ego, Veggie Head Stalker has never been kind to #GPAC2012 and pretty much derailed their entire Twitter effort because they could never find enough supporters to bury my tweets. How many more like me follow simply to keep abreast of the propaganda and not because they are fans of GPAC?
