Trade You A Downtown Aquarium For A GPAC

Several years ago, Councilwoman Johnson floated the idea of building a downtown aquarium. Problem was, that was pre-Randalman Dam and a drought dried up any hopes of having enough water to keep the fishies alive. But now the idea of a Downtown Greensboro Aquarium has come back up and frankly myself and others are willing to trade an aquarium for a GPAC as an aquarium is something Durham and Charlotte don't have and people in Greensboro might actually use.

And it should be operated by the City's Parks and Recreation Department. No need for 3rd party non profits to siphon off the water tax dollars.

Update: The NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher draws 500,000 visitors a year. Atlanta's aquarium draws 1 Million visitors a year. An aquarium could be built in stages so that previous stages could bear the cost of building later stages. A Greensboro Aquarium Facebook group has been founded and will be more popular in a week that the GPAC Facebook group has become in a year.
