An auto plant with jobs for everyone who wants one is right around the corner if you further enrich Jim Melvin's friends who are buying or have bought properties down 421 in Guilford and Randolph Counties. But surely they understand that working class Americans in Greensboro are going along with the story because they really don’t have any say in our policies anymore. That doesn’t mean the masses want it thrown in their faces that the Fed has spent 6 years now inflating the wealth of Roy Carroll etc... so much that it actually lifted the total wealth of the Greensboro's citizens to record highs.
The ugly reality is that the bottom 80% of those who live in Greensboro, experienced none of that gain.
So when the Fed via its compromised media which includes CNBC and Fox, start banging on about the fact that some sliver of society is being handed extraordinary wealth while the working class has lost 40% of their net worth since 2007, well a big fcuk you right back at ya!
The Fed is very aware that the bottom 80% of Americans own less than 5% of US equity markets, and its manipulation of stock prices such that it creates immense unearned wealth to those in the markets doesn’t reach the bottom 80%.
Why celebrate the results of the stock, bond and real estate market price manipulation?
It is embarrassing that our policymakers and elected officials are either that inconsiderate or that stupid to celebrate such a brutal dislocation between the haves and have nots.
It is somewhat beyond words.
And really paints the picture as to how little thought goes into the lives and well being of the bottom 80% of those who live in our community.
While the average net worth of Americans is 4th in the world pulled up by the top 10%, the median net worth of Americans comes in the 19th spot, meaning the bottom 80% of 18 other broke ass barely hanging on other nations have more wealth than the bottom 80% of us here in America.
It's as if those responsible for massive inequality showing off and celebrating a new born baby at the funeral of another family’s child.
And for Greensboro's un-involved apathetic overwhelming majority?
Please wonder why most of Greensboro's residents are so willing to be siht on for so long without so much as a hint of standing up to the rentiers that steal our wealth and pass it around their political class.
As long as most of East Greensboro and the unconnected bottom gets a few belly rubs once in a while, most are happy to live without respect because they don't know any better. We seem fine with being demeaned, controlled, robbed, enslaved and yes siht on by our political ‘superiors’ like Skip Alston, who stood up and misled the Pulpit Forum and the local NAACP on redistricting. Skip had the gall to stand there in front of 75 people and tell them he should have made $150,000 on the Phillips Avenue Grocery Store, and that is why East Greensboro should supports Roy Carroll's redistricting plan, backed by his Rhino Times who makes Alston out to be a saint, while a select group aim to takeover Greensboro's cash cow.
We are a nation who got fat, lazy, complacent, perhaps stupid and have forfeited our sense of self esteem to our phones and cable TV.
Imagine the founding fathers looking down on all of this. Imagine those who fought in the Civil Rights movement looking down at what Greensboro has become, knowing they sacrificed everything just to hand the City over to a Roy Carroll, Skip Alston, John Hammer and the rest who finance our elections to bleed taxpayer money for profit with Zack Matheny, Nancy Hoffmann, Nancy Vaughan, Mike Barber etc...'s bought and paid for votes.
How incredibly disheartening it would be for Nathaniel Green and O'Henry to see us now.
We have become nothing but a host to a group of political parasites that have thrived on our wealth and our strength, to the detriment of our family's livelihoods.
