City Admits Greensboro Gets Poorer

Thanks to a Facebook post by Dave Reed I found confirmation from none other than the City of Greensboro that while parts of West and North West Greensboro have gotten richer, the vast majority of our city's population in the South, East and North East are now living below the poverty line.

Remember: The website I'm about to send you to is from the City of Greensboro Planning Department.

It's easy to operate, move the gray line right and you'll be shown income levels from 2005 - 2009. Move the gray line left and you'll  be shown income levels from 2010 - 2014. You can use the scroll wheel on your mouse to zoom in. The bluer the poorer. The results are terrifying as much of what was recently solidly middle class neighborhoods are now well under the poverty lines. Here's a screen grab for 2010- 2014.

At the same time, the same guys who have been calling it wrong for years are writing articles like The force is strong here? Greensboro may be a budding mecca for business start-ups in the local fishwrap.

Or this piece of utter nonsense supported by no facts what-so-ever, It's a wonderful life: Six reasons why Greensboro will prosper in 2016.

Prosper for who? Greensboro's elitist status quo?

If you want to learn more, find out the truth they've been keeping from you and use Changing Levels of Poverty in Greensboro, NC... Well that was the link.
