Greensboro: Stroke Capital Of North Carolina

Well once again Greensboro is #1, this time, for leading the State of North Carolina as the city with the most strokes. In a reported titled, More people treated for strokes in Greensboro than any other part of the state, Fox 8 reports:

"According to the local chapter of the American Heart Association, there are more people treated for strokes in Greensboro than in any other part of the state."

That's interesting considering that Greensboro is not North Carolina's largest city. One would naturally assume that Charlotte with a population of 809,958 as opposed to Greensboro's 277,080 people would have that honor. How can a city so close by with so much in common and 3 times as many people have fewer strokes overall?

Greensboro's per capita stroke rate must be through the roof!

I e-mailed this information to Greensboro Mayor Nancy Barakat Vaughan on Thursday but have as yet, received no reply.

And so it is we add yet one more update to Billy's Big List Of Documented Reasons Why Greensboro Sucks so that all of you know you'd best get out while there is still time to get out alive.
