Myself and others will be riding a bus from downtown Greensboro to visit the Durham Performing Arts Center this morning. Including myself, 10 people from outside the Greensboro Performing Arts Center Task Force and "officaldum" have been chosen to make the trip. How did I get a ride? Threats and coercion, of course. How else can one who isn't a part of the downtown crowd get anything done in Greensboro?
James Griffin of NCA&T University is making the trip. Mr Griffin is hub liaison for the university. Perhaps Mr Griffin can tell us who is buying the A&T University Farm located in East Greensboro and what the buyer intends to do with the property? And why the university has been trying to keep this information a secret?
Peggy of Grass Roots Productions Ltd, a downtown non profit headed by Betty Cone, is also making the trip as are folks from the News & Record and a few downtown business owners. Other than myself, if any of the 10 who were chosen do not have downtown business interest, I'd be very surprised.
See you on the bus.
