More Evidence The Mayor Has A Conflict

This is one of a series of articles beginning with The Problem With Developer Ownership Of The Bessemer Shopping Center that not only highlights problems with developer ownership but also stumbles upon corrupt political practices in local government.

Previously I suggested the Mayor's suggestion that the Bessemer Shopping Center be torn down might indicate a conflict of interest. Now it appears there is even more reason to be suspicious.

The file is bulky and hard to read. I had to zoom to 200% magnification to read it and it still takes a very long time to load but here is the Connections 2025 Generalized Future Land Use Map (GFLUM)

You'll notice a number of circles with a white cloud and a "K" symbol in the middle. Two of those are very important to some of the things the Mayor has been up to of late. One is located at the intersection of Ward Road and Burlington Road. The other at the A&T University Farm.

At Ward Road and Burlington Road as well as Franklin Blvd and Burlington Road and at many other streets crossing the North Carolina Rail Road there are markers indicating bridges or overpasses to be built to clear the railroad tracks. You'll also notice the I-85 to Wendover connectors that I told you Guilford County promised K-mart Distribution and the planned and unneeded Florida Street extension.

And strangely, while Mayor Perkins is suggesting the grocery store should be located on East Wendover, the area of East Wendover he's talking about is slated to become zoned, Institutional and Low Residential.
