What The Media And The City Aren't Telling You About The Rennanance Community Co-op Part 2

Bessemer Shopping Center 2010 Request For Proposals And Resolution

Here's a link to the 2010 Bessemer Shopping Center Request For Proposals as released by the City of Greensboro seeking a lead agent to "coordinate redevelopment of a mixed use Neighborhood center development." According to the RFP the lead agent was to be ready to begin by Feburary 1, 2011.

Note: There is no mention of the lead agent being entitled to ownership of any part of the shopping center. And yet George Carr plans to do just that as a partner in New Bessemer Associates.

This next link appears to indicate that part of the shopping center property has already been sold to New Bessemer Associates represented by George Carr. It wasn't. This is the Resolution of the City Council's decision. The City of Greensboro appears to be keeping a number of secrets. Don't you wonder what might be on the pages above and below what is surely a multi-page contract?

Of course, the truth is: George Carr and New Bessemer Associates never paid the City of Greensboro for the property. They never even started construction. In other words: George Carr failed to meet his end of the deal-- a deal-breaker had Mr Carr been your average Joe but being that George Carr is a local fat cat developer with $Millions in his own bank accounts he gets another chance-- this time at the expense of Greensboro taxpayers who until now have had no say in our crony capitalist city government.

So why is George Carr still in the game? Is he blackmailing City Council? Bribing City Council? Are do they just like him so much that Council is willing to give away $Millions of taxpayer Dollars to George Carr just because he wants our money? Seriously, why?

And you wonder why no one from the City of Greensboro bothered to reply to my post: What The Media And The City Aren't Telling You About The Renaissance Community Co-op Part 1

After the news that Councilman Jim Key took bribes to stop the co-op I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Folks, if Greensboro's leaders don't start doing some straight talking very soon, before November there won't be a politician in Greensboro who can walk down a public street without fear of who they might meet on any public street. Me? It won't be me. You only need worry who talks to me? And who reads me. See that meter below? The number will never get smaller... Never.

And Mayor Perkins, when I'm done with you, you'll be giving your half of NAI Piedmont Triad to Carole to get her lawyers off your back. I hope you like driving a truck for a living as Greensboro is set to have lots of logistics and transportation jobs. The training only takes about two months and you might even get lucky and be in a class I teach.
