I e-mailed several City Council members to verify the address of the studio where the filming will take place. Two city council members verified the filming would be taking place at the Ashtae Products complex located at 1325 South Eugene St. (Link to Google map since Mayor Perkins obviously doesn't know where East Greensboro is.) That would be 13 blocks south and one block west of the long established center of the City of Greensboro.
Explain to us again how this is bringing 3 new full time jobs and 5 new part time jobs to East Greensboro? Thirteen blocks from the corner of Market and Elm might as well be Downtown.
And finally, how many of those 3 new full time jobs and 5 new part time jobs will be hired from the immediate neighborhood? Do you really think there are folks with that kind of work experience (Television production) living in the housing projects across the street from Ashtae Products?
