Greensboro's Brittany Holt, Recipient of SAMHSA 2012 Young Adult Award

SAMHSA 2012 - Voice Awards recognizes Brittany Holt, Association Peer Support Specialist and Educator.

The Mental Health Association in Greensboro congratulates Brittany Holt, Peer Support Specialist and Wellness Academy Educator for receiving the 2012 Young Adult Leadership Voice Award. Brittany received this national award based on her leadership and advocacy work with young adults of NC Families United and Youth MOVE NC and her facilitating mental health support groups, teaching Wellness Academy classes and Peer Support Specialist work at the Association. Brittany has recently returned to school to study for her Masters in Social Work at the joint NC A&T-UNCG program.

SAMHSA's 2012 Voice Awards ceremony was held on Wednesday, August 22 at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, CA.

Brittany Holt receiving award The event celebrated Voice Award-winning individuals, community leaders in recovery for mental and substance use disorders, and entertainment industry productions. Now in its seventh year, the Voice Awards convenes representatives from the entertainment industry and the behavioral health community for an evening of education and awareness about the societal contributions of people living with behavioral health problems. SAMHSA is the event sponsor.
