TEDx Greensboro

Don't know if you've heard about TEDx Greensboro or not. My apologies for not spreading the word sooner. The organizers of TEDx Greensboro sent out an e-mail tonight asking for suggestions for a theme for the upcoming conference in 2013. I suggested the following:

The Products That Build Tomorrows Today

TEDx Greensboro needs to inspire Greensboro to return to its roots and become a leader in manufacturing instead of chasing the same few "industries" and developer driven economic ideas that are currently failing Greensboro and thousands of cities across America.

I hope others will agree. Housing starts and commercial development are economic indicators, not economic drivers. And the sooner Greensboro's "leaders" come to understand this to be fact the faster Greensboro will start down the road to economic recovery. We cannot build enough buildings and industrial parks to turn things around. It's time Greensboro started building something other than buildings for rich men to play in and houses for rich whores to lay in.
