We recently learned that Greensboro is the highest taxed city in North Carolina. Today the News & Record reports Greensboro has a $6 million to $6.5 million funding gap.and that Proctor and Gamble is seeking $2 Million in incentives from Greensboro and Guilford County. Many previously voter approved bonds have never been released by the Greensboro City Council and yet there are still those who are pushing for bonds to build a downtown performing arts center. They should be ashamed to be asking for money at a time like this. Goes to show you what kind of leeches Greensboro's elites really are.
And if that isn't alien math I don't know what is.
In the meantime, myself and others are pushing for a world class Downtown Greensboro Aquarium and all we're really asking is for the City of Greensboro to do is get out of the way.
Robbie Perkins has done nothing to help Greensboro. His "big vision" is based on a flawed concept that requires a dwindling resource, real estate, the very thing that caused the recent housing bubble, to generate revenue. It's a system that requires bubbles to burst to keep working and as noted by the Mayor's own financial situation and the fact that he is unable to pay his child support or his house payments he isn't even capable of playing through the bubbles. It's time for this alien math to end once and for all.
