In an earlier post, If I Were Greensboro Chief Of Police, I wrote:
"You see, I have asked Brian Clarey repeatedly to tell me if Eric Ginsburg or anyone else from Yes! Weekly interviewed the GPD officers who sent the e-mails that were released by the City of Greensboro to verify that those officers did in-fact send those e-mails.
Brian Clarey's answer in every instance thus far: crickets, not a sound. He avoids the question like the plague. Why will Clarey not answer that simple question? Simple answer: he screwed up. An e-mail is only a single source of information and in itself must be verified before it can be considered as proof."
Clarey finally replied in the comments:
"Crickets? I told you yesterday on the phone that GPD would only allow an interview with the chief on this subject. We've been trying to get an interview with Finch for weeks.
Geez Billy... you keep making things up it may start to affect your credibility."
But again, Clarey dodged the question. You see, There was no reason for GPD to prevent Yes! Weekly from interviewing police officers BEFORE the first article went to print because according to everyone involved, GPD had no prior knowledge of the Yes! Weekly investigation until it was too late to stop it. Hence, the failed last minute attempt before the judge.
He never answered that question. He waited for me to leave out the word 'before' then answered the question as if he had been answering the question all along. Clarey has also made the claim in on Facebook

that he didn't block my e-mail address. Oops!
And to make matters worse, if what Clarey is saying is true, that GPD will only allow reporters to interview the chief of police and not the officers involved while not bringing in State or Federal investigators ASAP, then it looks as if GPD is participating in a cover-up.
So one more time, Clarey, did you, Eric Ginsburg or any journalist from Yes Weekly contact ALL the police officers thus far involved in this story to verify that they did in-fact send the e-mails you, Eric Ginsburg and the City of Greensboro are accusing them of sending BEFORE the story went to print? Yes or no?
