Finally, some good news. The Renaissance Community Coop is finally coming together to bring a community owned grocery store to the old Winn-Dixie location on Phillips Avenue. While nothing is set in stone, lifetime memberships are being sold for $100.oo each and things are on the move.
A professional research firm was hired and conservative estimates are that the co-op grocery will show a profit in it's first year of operation and will repay all loans in 10 years while bringing a higher standard of grocery shopping to East Greensboro than exists anywhere in Greensboro today.
