The Rules Of Modern Tyrannicide

Tyrannicide literally means the killing of a tyrant or one who kills tyrants. In today's politically correct world I am as close as one can come to a modern day Tyrannicide minus the literal. I admit it would have been easier to use one of my sniper varmint rifles, string a thin steel wire across my target's favorite's cycling trails, wait for him to ride past and finish him off with a silenced .22 to the head or mix up something from under the kitchen sink but things don't work that way these days. Heroes who resort to violence are no longer considered heroes in modern society. The modern Tyrannicide must operate in the media, in view of the public and the only blood shed might be his own when he comes too close to his target. But in the end his target must fall. In the beginning I thought there were no rules but I have since learned a few and will present them to you.

Be prepared to lose some friends. Yes, you'll make new friends but you'll probably lose more than you gain.

Understand that political affiliations count for nothing. I'm not saying you give up what you believe in but the people most likely to help you may not share the same overall political views as you. As a matter of fact: most who help you will simply be believers in the old saying, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." Don't be surprised if you become their next target after you've finished their dirty work.

A lot of people are only liberals because they're in it for the money. A lot of people are only conservatives because they're in it for the money. No matter if you think yourself a liberal or a conservative you will quickly find out that some who you had long thought shared your own views only share those views as long as it makes his or her wallet fatter. While I consider myself a liberal I have nothing but respect for the conservative who remains a conservative when becoming a liberal would be more profitable or somehow easier. Same goes for the other way around.

Here's a hard one you're going to have to deal with: You can only become a modern Tyrannicide because you think you must, because you believe with everything that you are that someone must do it and that someone is you. No one is going to pay you, few will praise you and most who do praise you will never do so publicly. It's not that people don't care, they do care. The tyrants you go after would have you believe people don't care but that simply isn't the case. The reality is: for most people the struggle to survive takes us so much of their time and energies they haven't time or energy for politics. And why is it that way? Because the tyrants keep it that way.

You'll not go down in the history books as having been a hero. Odds are good you'll be branded a conspiracy theorist even after the main stream media proves you right time and again. How is that possible? Because the main stream media will never give you credit for your work, choosing instead to claim it for themselves despite the time stamps on your website and the other forms of documentation you provided.

You're going to have to apologize to a lot of people and do so publicly. And you'll probably not get credit for that either. That's the breaks, get over it.

You're going to end up exposing people you didn't want to expose. That includes yourself so if there's anything about you then you'd better be telling it.

People are going to make up things about you and most of them will never let you know who they are. Live with it.

People are going to abandon you. And you're going to be shocked to find out which people abandon you. But there will be some, not many, but some who come to your side and form the kinds of bonds that can never be broken. Others will come back in time, don't hate them because they couldn't understand what you, yourself might not always understand. Just accept them as they are and know they're doing the best they know how. After all, they are not the tyrants.

You'd better have lots of back-up plans. Today's tyrants make up the rules as they go along and you are forced to play by them. Most of the time when you think you've got them they knew of a loop hole before they committed the crime. And they probably used your tax dollars to research and find that loop hole. Or they voted the loop hole in because they were planning it all along. Never play a trump card unless you're holding trump cards to spare.

Get used to being used. Politicians will try to use you. Their supporters will try to use you. People who feel as if they've been done wrong by someone else will try to use you. The list of people who will try to use you is endless. That's not to say that some of them don't have legitimate reasons for their actions. Some do. But understand that many do not. Also understand that many who use you will also help you even if they do so unknowingly.

Learn to go fishing. This one drives the main stream media batty. Sometimes you get just enough information to make people ask questions but not enough information to prove what you need to prove. So you bait your hook with what you have, ask the questions publicly and wait to see what else pops up. If you play it right you just might get enough supporting evidence from others to complete your case. And yes, if you have any money you are at risk of being sued. No one said Tyrannicide was easy or fun.

Get used to being lied to and working very long hours for no pay.

Be happy with winning small battles. Odds are good you'll not dig up that one big thing that destroys the tyrant altogether but if you can chip away at his armor long enough you might expose an opening that allows someone else to push their sword through his heart. Be happy the tyrant has finally fallen even though your lance never once touched his skin. There is no shame in clearing the battlefield of the tyrant's armies to make way for another to take him down.

Your reward you will carry inside your very being.
