We learned today that Deep Roots has finally opened their downtown Greensboro location with help from the City of Greensboro. And that's a good thing. We also learn that Renaissance Community Co-op has launched a website at RenaissanceCoop.com in the hopes of bringing community co-ops to all of Greensboro and not just Downtown Greensboro. We hope the Greensboro City Council will remember that while 2000 people (according to DGI) have lived in a food desert for 6 years Downtown, in my Northeast Greensboro neighborhood, 20,000 people have lived in a food desert for over 15 years.
Join the co-op movement and keep Greensboro's hard earned cash right here in Greensboro where it can do the most for our communities.
