WHAT: Students, first responders, and concerned business owners partner to present a live crash scenario designed to illustrate the dangers of texting and driving. The live texting and crash scene response features first responders and support personnel managing the fatal accident: the actions are incredibly realistic.
The live crash scenario is preceded by four short videos written by and starring drama students from Grimsley High School. Through these vignettes, the students share glimpses into the life their peer who dies while texting and driving. The videos aired on the school’s closed circuit television.

By going to www.greensboro-nc.gov/Seniors, you will find links to news, programs, and events, most of which are free.
Whether you are interested in learning more about fitness classes or social clubs or signing up for a free activity-filled newsletter, the Seniors’ Web page offers links to information significant to your life.
You may also sign up to receive e-mail notifications about new information or activities designed for seniors by clicking on the E-Notify icon on the home page of the City’s website at www.greensboro-nc.gov. Then, under the Calendar section, check the Seniors’ Events box and under News, check the Seniors’ News box. Type in your e-mail address twice and click Subscribe. The system will send you an e-mail asking you to confirm your subscription by clicking on a link in the e-mail. After you do that, you will start to receive notices of new information posted on www.greensboro-nc.gov/Seniors.

Four Students Recognized for Their Determination
GREENSBORO, NC (March 26, 2013) – The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department and the Summit Rotary Club have recognized four students with the Monthly Student Improvement Award for March. They are Erica Caldwell, a sophomore at Southwest Guilford High School, Jamie Michael, a freshman at Grimsley High School, Stephanie Williams, a junior at the Middle College at Bennett, and Alexis Brown, a senior at Ragsdale High School. The teens received this award for their substantial growth in attitude, attendance, and achievement in school.
Select students are chosen each month from candidates throughout Guilford County, and monthly winners are eligible for the Student Improvement of the Year Award. Student nominees must be currently enrolled in a Guilford County high school.
