Promoters of a downtown location for the Greensboro Performing Arts Center said Downtown was a safer place than my Phillips Avenue choice of location but as it turns out, according to CrimeMapping.com made possible by the Greensboro and High Point police departments, the Phillips Avenue area with 10,000 residents is safer than Downtown Greensboro's 2000 residents.
Not that we're doing great over here, but as was pointed out by GPD last year, Downtown is one of Greensboro's deadliest neighborhoods with over twice the violent crime as Northeast Greensboro.
That's 2 years in a row, Folks. Northeast Greensboro and the Uptown are looking better all the time. After 50 plus years of getting screwed we're about to get even.
