Police and Community Partners Provide Services to City’s Homeless
WHAT: Greensboro police and other local organizations dedicated to serving the homeless are offering free basic medical care, haircuts, and a meal to the city’s chronically homeless population. Agencies with long-standing connections to homeless individuals (such as Street Watch, Partners Ending Homelessness, 16 Cents Ministries) will transport participants to Evangel Fellowship Church. There, people will have their vital signs taken, receive a medical physical, and get screened for diabetes by volunteer medical professionals. Haircuts and a meal will be provided. Service providers will also offer support services designed to meet the needs of this population.
WHEN: Saturday, April 6th. The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Media interested in interviews and covering the event should arrive at 11 a.m. and ask for Officer TV Moore.

City Budget Planning Meeting for District 5 Set for Thursday, April 4
WHAT: Greensboro City Council members and City officials will meet in March and April to discuss the 2013-14 budget planning process. Residents are encouraged to share their thoughts by attending any of the community meetings (flyer attached).
WHEN: Thursday, April 4, at 6 pm.
WHERE: Western Division Police Station, 300 S. Swing Rd.
WHO: The meeting will be hosted by City Councilman Tony Wilkins.
