In a meeting with city officials last week in which one N&R reporter attended, the subject of DGI's lack of transparency came up. Ms Turner Roth and the City Attorney as well as three City Council Members agreed with me that according to the NC School of Government, DGI and other City funded "non profits" should always be 100% transparent but neither DGI, Action Greensboro nor many other city funded "non profits" are transparent. Transparency or death! It's their choice.
As a matter of fact: Ms Turner Roth suggested that the "non profits" sometimes refuse to be transparent with city officials, perhaps even the City Manager herself.
