You'd see the City of Greensboro taking more of an interest in education instead of passing it all off on the county and state. Yes, our library system is great but what we need now is an education system that goes directly into the most depressed neighborhoods to teach business skills to those who dream of bootstrapping themselves up from where they are.
It doesn't require getting people college degrees. It doesn't require the formation of more "non profits" nor does it require the construction of shiny new multi-million dollar buildings-- there are plenty are resources available, most of them sitting around unused. Most resources get spent catering to Greensboro's elite developers. What's lacking is leadership that gives a damn about the working class.
