So The Mayor Filed Bankruptcy: What The Media Didn't Tell You

Twitter and Facebook exploded Friday night with the news that Greensboro's Mayor Robbie Perkins filed bankruptcy but that may not be the end of the Mayor's concerns when North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper reads, City Violates State Statutes In Promoting Greensboro Performing Arts Center. The State doesn't take too kindly to violations of voting laws.

You see, that's what happens when leaders start believing their own rhetoric:

“Mayors can get things done. We are in position to interact with citizens and, through sheer will, can get things done.” --Mayor Robbie Perkins, Atlanta, Georgia, October 2012

But anyway, back to the Mayor's bankruptcy.

People commenting on the Mayor's bankruptcy overwhelmingly agree the Mayor should resign from office as any business would consider him no longer fit to handle money. And while some defend him saying it's a tough economy the Mayor has already sold almost $3 Million Dollars in property in 2013 and it's only early April. With average commissions running at around 6% this year's sales alone should have netted him almost $180,000.

And look at what the Mayor owns.  Why is it the only property he has failed to make payments on is the one property his underage daughter and estranged wife live in? Yeah, 13K a month is a chunk of alimony and child support but the man has proven himself to be a monster with a $500,000 a year income.

Which, by the way, roughly $400,000 a year of that income comes from commissions from developer, Roy Carroll.

And the Mayor still maintains his expensive Greensboro Country Club membership.

Did I mention the Mayor's new girlfriend, the one he left his wife for is none other than bankruptcy attorney Christie Myatt of Nexsen-Pruet. How much you want to bet he never pays her bill? You see, I saw this coming back in December. It's sad really. I hear Christie is a really nice girl who just happens to be taken with a real sociopath.

And do I even need to talk about his upcoming problems with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, contempt of court, perjury or attempting to hide assets to reduce his alimony and child support?

Oh, and about the Mayor's various conflicts of interest...
