The City Council needs obnoxious questions

Another LTE stolen in its entirety from the obnoxious News & Fishwrap to prevent it from being lost in their next purge.

"I have recently been watching the City Council meetings. In particular, I have been observing a Mr. (George) Hartzman comment from the floor. Now at times he does appear to be a fairly obnoxious, pushy person. However, much seems to have substance.

For starters, he has raised funding questions with nonprofit organizations. They appear to move taxpayer money around faster than the queen in a Three-card Monte scam.

He repeatedly makes fun of the city manager wanting to eliminate school crossing guards and close the sports complex for budget issues. At a minimum, the city manager must be a political-awareness amateur.

Eliminate school crossing guards? I cringe at the thought.

Now I remember when our present mayor pushed hard for the sports complex. We had promised the black community a large complex at Barber Park. But no, the warehouse was so cheap we had to buy it instead.

Good for Mr. Hartzman. Keep being obnoxious.

Besides, given all we know about the mayor, as the sign said about Nixon: “Would you buy a used car — oops, building — from this man?”

And let's not forget that while I don't endorse candidates, George Hartzman is running for the next Mayor of Greensboro.
