1175 Greensboro Businesses Fail To Pay Greensboro City Taxes

The following link is to a list provided by the City of Greensboro of businesses who are known to have failed to pay their 2012-2013 Business Privilege Licenses, aka, city business tax as the cost of the license is based on annual an revenue/sales formula for business done inside the city limits of Greensboro.

To be fair, some are no longer in business and others have moved away. And while some are small local businesses struggling to get by, companies like Diebold Inc are multinational corporations who should have no problem paying their taxes.

2012-2013 Unpaid Privilege Licenses

The City confirmed that $3,508,696 was paid for Business Privilege Licenses for fiscal year 2012-2013 licenses but gave no figure as to how much was lost. If one were to figure 1175 businesses at the minimum $100 fee charged by the City of Greensboro the total would come to $117,500 but considering companies like Diebold are involved I'm betting the losses are closer to a $Million Dollars or more.

And just think: Hell Day doesn't come back around until Monday. In the meantime, take a look and see if any there belong to any elected leaders or local "movers and shakers." You can always run the corporate names through the search feature at the NC Secretary of State to see who owns them. Or try searching by owner's name/registered agent as they're often one in the same.

And remember: anyone on this list is already a year behind as 2013-2014  Business Privilege Licenses are now in effect.
