"1. open meetings (3rd Thursday, 11:30, 8th floor conference room in Self Help Building)
2. combine DGI and DGIC into one organization - one budget no "management fees"
3. budget to be posted on website in an easy to find location (I don't believe that the budget is posted yet, but I expect it shortly. It will be updated monthly)
4. reorganization of Board - reduced size of Board to 21 (plus four non-voting members, City Manager, Mayor, County Manager and GC Commission Chair - or their designee) with the charge to increase diversity (age, race etc), insure bars/club owners/retail and restaurants are represented on the Board and to enforce term limits (effective 01-01-14 )
5. Recommended changes to committee structure but deferred final decision until new leadership can evaluate organizational structure
6. Change in leadership to focus on vision for downtown economic growth and vitality.
City council approved additional money for staffing changes and grants. "
It wasn't the perfect solution. Myself and others wanted DGI dead. I said if DGI is allowed to exist then voting board members from outside of Downtown should be included. While meetings are open to the public the public still isn't allowed to speak. The war isn't over but Greensboro has seen victories over DGI and the Downtown cartel.
