From last night's Greensboro City Council meeting.
After I spoke, the Greensboro City Council voted 9-0 to pass Mayor Vaughan's disclosure rules without adding any language asking the State House and Senate to strengthen disclosure laws at the local level. In every town and city in North Carolina, local governments remain powerless to prevent corruption at the local level-- is this by design? The vote of the Greensboro City Council would make it appear so.
I think we now know how deep the level of corruption extends in Greensboro.
In reality, I am the one who has lost his teeth, Mayor Nancy Baracat Vaughan's voluntary disclosure law with no punishment for non compliance has no teeth either.
This allows Greensboro and other North Carolina cities to remain among the most corrupt in the nation. Please share this with everyone you know.
