News & Record Continues To Manupulate Public Opinion

As if we needed more proof, Roch Smith Jr writes of how the News & Record lifted and changed copyrighted piece without permission that was written by professor Michael Crowell on the University of North Carolina School of Government. Roch writes:

"In truth, the News & Record did more than use the article without permission and shorten it, substantially, without permission, they also portions the author did not write and deleted portions that affected the meaning. Here are some selected comparisons of significantly edited portions."

These are the people we depend on for truth. Instead we get flimsy excuses like:

"His article was shortened because of the late addition of a quarter-page ad in the Ideas section."

Typical of the News & Record... If we can trust them to do this right then how can we trust them on matters where money might be changing hands?
