Update: I e-mailed Margaret Moffett of the News & Record for a clarification, here's what she had to say,
"So ... "disbanded" may have been too strong. What I meant to say was, "For all intents and purposes, officers of the HHHOA aren't acting in that capacity any more." The Coffeys clearly aren't acting in that capacity (not that they've ever said that outright). So for all practical purposes, there is no HOA for people like Jeff. Does that make sense?
Now, you're correct that the corporation hasn't "dissolved." Maybe I should have used a word that sounds less like "dissolved."
