Greensboro at one time was looking for state money for the Tanger Center for the Performing Arts and more money for the Union Square redevelopment project on Gate City Boulevard. The city didn’t receive any additional money for either. High Point, by comparison, received an additional $200,000 for the furniture market in addition to the $400,000 that had previously been promised.
It looks like additional state money that is coming to Guilford County is going to High Point and not Greensboro, and if you think that’s a coincidence then you don’t understand politics."
