WFMY Lies To Promote Megasite

Proving once again our local media is bought and paid for we have Triad Megasite Could Be Finalist For Mazda-Toyota Plant, Site Consultant Says by Alma McCarty, WFMY.

But it only takes a few minutes to discover that consultant John Boyd of Princeton, New Jersey, lists  the Piedmont Triad Partnership as one of his development clients:

Now why would Alma McCarty write "he is not affiliated with this particular project" when in-fact the Piedmont Triad Partnership was in-fact the founder of the project:

"There are other entities with a direct stake in the megasite project, however. The Piedmont Triad Partnership, a regional economic development organization, began working quietly in 2010 to identify a megasite location. Randolph County and the city of Greensboro later joined the effort. The Department of Commerce made a $1.7 million grant to Randolph County in 2012 to support the development and acquisition of a megasite. The groups eventually settled on the current location that involves approximately 60 separate parcels.

David Powell, chief executive officer of the Piedmont Triad Partnership, resigned in January 2015. At the time Powell left, his annual salary was $326,000. The megasite was a high priority for PTP.

In April 2015, PTP learned that Powell had been involved in “financial irregularities” and asked the Greensboro Police Department to investigate the matter. In January, the Guilford County District Attorney’s office charged Powell with two felony counts each of embezzlement and obtaining property by false pretense."

From day 1 this project has been corrupt, fraudulent, and filled with cover-ups. And to this day nothing has changed. Millions of your tax dollars are being pocketed for the promise of jobs that will never come to Greensboro.

That's why you need to write-in Billy Jones for Mayor of Greensboro, write-in Thessa Pickett for District 2, and vote all the incumbents out of office.

And by the way, I first broke the story of David Powell and the Piedmont Triad Partnership on this website months before the local media did. Just think of all the corruption I could expose as Mayor of Greensboro.

As always, please share.
