What Greensboro Really Needs

Is more uniformed police officers. The City of Greensboro is apparently flush with cash with talk of performing arts centers, loaning money to downtown developers to renovate historic buildings (not that I don't like historic buildings) and giving $Millions to Roy Carroll to develop empty industrial parks 10 miles outside the city limits while making deals with Guilford County not to annex the property into the city limits.

Meanwhile, people are getting shot and robbed in shopping center parking lots all over Greensboro. It's going to be really hard to attract businesses to Greensboro when their managers and employees can't safely go to the grocery store and pick up a few bags of groceries. Show me anyone who doesn't eat.

And did I mention that according to the Greensboro Police Department, our precious downtown now has the highest rate of violent crime in Greensboro? I think News & Record propaganda specialist editor, Allen Johnson called it an "uptick".

So much for recruiting more business downtown.

Accuse me of wild accusations and innuendo if you like but the hyperlinks above are to the Greensboro News & Record and the Greensboro Police Department. Those are things I cannot make up and didn't imagine.

I ran a write-in campaign for Mayor of Greensboro in 2007. Most of you never heard of it but you might have seen me flying around downtown streets on my StreetPlane banner in tow, "Billy Jones for Mayor!" My entire reason for running then wasn't to become mayor but to bring attention to the crime and gang issues that plagued and still plague Greensboro. The local media outlets, mayoral candidates Milton Kern, Yvonne Johnson and the entire Greensboro City Council denied Greensboro had a gang problem. They said my claims were wild accusations and innuendo just like they want you to believe today.

I had 200 members of the Bloods Gang across the street from my house. Two weeks later, News & Record reporter, Joe Killian wrote Why do kids join gangs? after interviewing 40 Greensboro gang members and turned Greensboro's political establishment on its head. Thanks Joe! Once again, Billy was proven right by the very establishments who claimed him wrong.

In 2009 the News & Record called gangs the "biggest threat". Again folks, not my word, theirs.

No, I will not be running for political office again. I cannot continue my work as a Tyrannicide while assuming office. I do not care who you are, if I find out you are dirty I will work to destroy you. To accuse me of wild accusations and innuendo when my track record is just the opposite tells you exactly what kind of people are running Greensboro. Greensboro needs these people out of office, out of town if possible and out of our lives. Greensboro needs more uniformed police officers paid for with the money we save by not letting the politricksters run away with every penny they can steal. The days of Greensboro government being run by faceless, unelected foundations, some of them not even legal entities, needs to come to an end.

That's what Greensboro really needs.

When it turns out I am wrong I always admit it publicly and privately as soon as I'm convinced I was wrong. In other words, if those pantywaists Sanders and Lomax are willing to prove themselves innocent then I"ll post their evidence at the top of this post. Show me a newspaper who would stand up like that.

And if they don't show me evidence? Every online discussion I and my helpers can find that mentions Sanders, Lomax, GPAC or the Community Foundation will get backlinks to that same post. I am their worst nightmare.
