The Yvonne And Walter Johnson Saga: Part 2

Last night, in part 1, I asked the question, Why Was Yvonne Johnson's Husband Banned From Practicing Law? and I pointed out how Yvonne and Walter's daughter, Lisa Johnson-Tonkins, Assistant District Attorney and candidate for Guilford County Clerk of Court, helped Walter avoid seizure of several rental properties by forming WGJ Properties, Inc.

I also pointed out how the NC Bar considered that move as part of the reasoning behind their decision to remove Walter from the bar.

Today I give you a Greensboro News & Record article from 2004 entitled, State Bar Sanctions Lawyer For Second Time  in which N&R reporter Scott Michels lays out how Walter Johnson cheated clients, owed $564,000 in back taxes to the IRS and how Judge Henry Frye disagreed with Yvonne Johnson's assertion that their financial woes were solely due to the failure of Walter's home building venture:

"Johnson's problems are connected in part to financial troubles, Frye said."

That's right, folks, the same judge Henry Frye who was a member of the GPAC task force. That wouldn't be the last time Walter Johnson disgraced the NC Bar.

So did Walter Johnson ever pay back the $564,000 in back taxes owed to the IRS?

We'll find out that and so much more in future editions of the The Yvonne And Walter Johnson Saga.

Maybe I should rename it the The Yvonne And Walter Johnson and  Lisa Johnson-Tonkins Saga? Or  The Yvonne And Walter Johnson, Lisa Johnson-Tonkins, George C Simkins PAC Saga?
