That's what we always hear when downtown boosters talk about funding for downtown projects with taxpayers dollars. Problem is: Greensboro hasn't added any jobs since 1999.
Like I've said before, I don't know if this economic hocus-pocus works or not but if it does work then the Greensboro Performing Arts Center should be located in East Greensboro and not downtown. After all, unemployment is a lot higher in East Greensboro that it's ever been in downtown Greensboro.
