" Private donations for the proposed Greensboro performing arts center last year were never considered “firm,” according to a fundraiser.
Kathy Manning, who helped lead the performing arts center task force fundraising effort, said last week that she has been careful to call commitments “tentative” or “soft.”
Manning’s comments were spurred by Scoop’s story about fundraising for the project (“Donation pledge for downtown Greensboro arts center disputed”). The story quoted minutes from the task force’s June 7 meeting, where Manning gave an update to the group saying there are “firm commitments” for $13 million.
Manning said there’s an error in the minutes.
Language regarding financial commitments had to be tentative because the details of the project, such as the location, hadn’t been worked out, Manning said."
And Walker Sanders is caught lying in the taxpayers' pool and stealing money once again.
