The Real Issue Behind The Downtown Noise Ordinance

Having spent my life here it's easy to watch history repeat itself. It's all part of the land grab development that has always gone on in downtown Greensboro. Developers and commercial realtors cannot profit if ownership of high end downtown properties becomes stagnant so they force the turnover of said properties to keep themselves in business. It's the modern day version of setting fires to buy the property cheap.

These buildings occupied by Syn and Sky,  Greene Street Entertainment and other targeted venues are in-fact among the most valuable properties in all of Guilford County conveniently located Downtown some with walk-in access to parking decks and amenities aspiring downtown luxury hotel promoters would kill to get.

Think about it people: the ability to retrofit an old high rise into a downtown hotel or town-homes vs the cost of building a new luxury hotel or town-homes from the ground up.

Mark my word, if Roy Carroll wins that is exactly what will happen.

Update: Why won't Roy Carroll ask that the same noise ordnance be applied to his other rental properties which were also built after the noise creating nuisance was already grandfathered in? In all fairness, shouldn't a grandfather clause apply downtown as well?
