Why I'm Most Disappointed With Greensboro's Most Prominent Liberals

Having long been a very vocal liberal here in Greensboro it's time I made a point the local liberal establishment isn't going to want to hear. In his Friday post entitled, Paying the wealthy on the backs of poor and middle-class families,  UNCG Professor Dave Ribar points his fingers at conservatives in Raleigh who are robbing the poor to give to the rich.

And I must agree, that is exactly what conservatives in Raleigh are doing.

But in all this time neither Dave Ribar nor the rest of the entrenched liberal establishment here in Greensboro has ever bothered to admit the very same thing is going on in Greensboro when local liberals stand in support of building the Greensboro Performing Arts Center on the backs of Greensboro's poor and working class while at the same time, Skip Alston, one of Greensboro's long time leading liberals, former county commissioner and NAACP officer, attempts to steal a community co-op  from a poor African-American Greensboro community with the help of the Greensboro City Council and Greensboro's establishment liberals do nothing. Not a word, not a peep from the local liberal establishment leaders.

Greensboro's establishment liberals like Professor Ribar should be outraged, marching on the streets, calling for impeachments of local elected officials and demanding voters take notice in Greensboro just as they're demanding voters take notice in Raleigh. But what are Greensboro's establishment liberals like Professor Dave Ribar doing about the very same problem in Greensboro that exists in Raleigh? Not a damned thing!

If I were a Tea Party member you could make the claim I'm simply attacking liberals but I'm not. I'm a lifelong hard core liberal who believes in women's rights, gay rights, anti war, anti big business and most of the stuff on the left wing liberal agenda. But I'm as sick and fucking tired of liberal hypocracy as I am sick and tired of conservative hypocracy. Even more so as like all liberals I'm conditioned to expect liberals to stand up for the poor and working class more than I expect conservatives to do so. And no matter how you slice it, Greensboro's liberal establishment is not standing up against Greensboro government and Greensboro's elites on behalf of Greensboro's poor and working class.

Listen to me, Greensboro, if they are establishment liberal or conservative they are not interested in the poor and working class. We can't change Raleigh but we can change Greensboro by spreading the word about what is going on here to the entire world and making their names, mud.
