Downtown Greensboro Curfew And Downtown Still Isn't Safe

Greensboro, NC (07 July 2013)

On July 7, 2013 at approximately 1:49 am, Officers responded to the area of East Lewis Street and Southside Square in reference to a robbery from an individual.

Upon arrival, Officers met with the victim, Marvin A. Merida, who advised two subjects approached him as he walked to his vehicle. Both subjects displayed handguns and demanded the vehicle. The subjects then took the victim’s vehicle, a 2001 black Honda Civic, and personal property. The two subjects fled the area in the victim’s vehicle, traveling south toward Murray Street.

The victim was not injured and no medical attention was required.

The suspects are described as black males, in their 20’s, both with short curly hair, and both armed with handguns.

The investigation is ongoing.

Central Division Patrol and CID responded to the scene.
