The man in the video is Jack Hartzman, the older brother of Greensboro Mayoral Candidate, George Hartzman. An Internet search for Jack Hartzman turned up some rather interesting information.
"From my first wedding in 1979 to capturing Super Bowls, Final 4's and the Sugar Bowl, NATO, 6 Presidential Inaugurals, thousands of Weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Corporate Events and Galas, Business Portraits to Senior Portraits, Kids to Maternity, Israeli Dance Festivals to C-Unit (modern dance) recitals, Green Screens or Step & Repeat Photo Ops, I just love what I do."
When Jack told me on Tuesday that he knew both the Clinton and Bush families (as in Presidents Clinton and Bush) he wasn't kidding. Just click through the Speakers section of Jack Hartzman's online portfolio and check out the famous Washington faces you see there.
I found photographic credits for Jack Hartzman at the New York Times, Capitol Life Magazine, National Science Foundation, The Business Journal, Capitol File Magazine, Gotham Magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine and CorrDefense, a Department of Defense publication about preserving military assets. Here's a photo of Harrison Ford and Hillary Clinton credited to Jack Hartzman. Don't ask me what Harrison Ford has to do with National Security but hey, he was there.
And for my conservative readers, a photo of President George Bush credited to George's brother, Jack Hartzman. My web searches turned up many more on government websites that can't currently be viewed because of the government shutdown that has forced many departments to turn off their websites.
The last recorded photograph of the World Trade Center, taken September 10, 2001 the night before they fell and hanging in Rudy Gulianoi's office was taken by George Hartzman's brother, Jack Hartzman.
And that was just the tip of the iceberg.
So does this tell us that George Hartzman will be a great mayor for Greensboro, North Carolina? No, but just like George and Jack's engineer father, these men come from greatness. And right now greatness is something Greensboro desperately needs.
Update: How far back do Jack's connections to Greensboro go? From Jack's Facebook page:
"Just dropped my niece Karly off at Grimsley High School in Greensboro, NC. Interestingly enough, a school that I went to a Sr. Prom at 30 years ago. Life does come full circle if you wait long enough. — at Grimsley High School."
