The Greensboro City Council has long promoted development at Piedmont Triad International Airport but the part they fail to mention is that some years back the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority successfully lobbied the North Carolina House and Senate to prevent the annexation of the airport into the Greensboro City Limits meaning that the businesses located there-- sometimes the same businesses the Greensboro City Council votes to give incentives to-- often do not ever pay taxes to the City of Greensboro.
Think about that the next time someone says Greensboro needs to invest in PTI.
