Boeing Ain't Flying To Greensboro

Newly elected Mayor Nancy Baracat Vaughan is simply flapping her wings over nothing if she thinks she's going to attract Boeing the Greensboro. That is, unless Lying Mayor Vaughan intends to top the $1.7 Billion Dollar incentive package passed by the State of Missouri on Friday.

Remember: Greensboro is also competing against Charlotte and other North Carolina locations as well as about 40 cities nationwide in this deal which Greg LeRoy, author of The Great American Job Scam, described as:

"The Economic War Among the States, which Boeing is openly stoking and which we have documented is on steroids with a surge in “megadeals” since 2008, is absolutely driving inequality in the United States. Those elite companies with the greatest ability to move capital and jobs—or threaten to move—are taking it to the bank: dodging taxes, enriching shareholders, and using taxpayer-financed subsidy bids as a crowbar to drive down wages and benefits.

This is, in fact the best thing that could happen to Greensboro.  Nancy Vaughn's previous $300 Million Dollar incentive to FedEx promised us 1500 jobs and delivered zero. Her record sucks.

The give-a-ways to corporations must stop. Developers no longer beg the Greensboro City Council for taxpayer dollars, they demand it. And rarely are they turned down. The Boeing deal is also said to be worth 1500 jobs. At $1.7 Billion Dollars, what is the cost per job to the taxpayers? Someone do the math, my calculator won't even do that many zeros.

They never get their numbers straight.Things are never what they seem and no one is ever held accountable.

Nancy Baracat Vaughan told us she would be a better mayor than Robbie Perkins has been but so far all I've heard are lies, cowardice and the opinion that the voters don't matter. You know, just like her mentor, Robbie Perkins before her.

Update: Boeing’s Wish List proves me right.
