While the address is listed as 4336 Federal Drive, Greensboro, NC. 27410, that is in-fact just for the post office. You see, according to the Guilford County Register of Deeds, the only Federal Drive in Guilford County is located in High Point.
In reality, High Point, not Greensboro, is getting 500 new jobs.
According to the News & Record:
"APAC is closing its call center in Charlotte, according to documents filed with the N.C. Department of Commerce. The company filed the notice earlier this week, saying it will lay off 239 workers in Charlotte and close on May 9."
So in reality Guilford County has only stolen jobs from Mecklenburg County and done nothing for employment or the economy as a whole. And maybe next month something closes in Greensboro or High Point and moves to Charlotte.
It's time Greensboro looked at other ways.
