On The C4GC Jeff Martin Law Suit

I'm not taking up for Conservatives 4 Guilford County. While it's true I consider Jodi Riddleburger a friend of sorts I don't necessarily agree with her political world view and I've long questioned the group's connection to local strip club owners as being a little dicey for a conservative political group. That said, strip clubs are legal in North Carolina and as long as they remain legal, like it or not, their owners will work to influence local political groups.

As for Jeff Martin: A brilliant writer who waists his every effort.

Many times I thought I was being treated with respect by Jeff Martin and each and every time was a trap to lure me in so he could slay me again. Often he would keep my comments in moderation along with my links proving that what I was saying was true just so he could make me look bad. Then he and others would continue long conversations about me while I was unable to join in and defend myself. I hate it took me so long to learn.

I did once threaten to whip Jeff's ass if he continued to attack George Hartzman. George was near the edge of a nervous breakdown, Jeff was relentlessly attacking him with absolute falsehoods and I felt as if I had to do something drastic to protect a friend. Right or wrong and I might have been wrong, I did it. Jeff immediately backed down, the entire local online community was outraged and I was banned from Ed Cone's blog because of it but guess what: a threat with conditions is not a threat according to the law.

That's right folks: according to the law: I never threatened Jeff Martin.

And just a couple of weeks ago when Ben Holder threatened me with:

" I will bust your head wide open. I promise you that."

Not one single member of the online community had one word to say publicly. But how they are talking now. But not about Ben. I think we now know what kind of people these people really are.

Of course Ben's "threat" was also with conditions so no law was broke, no harm, no foul but where was the outrage? Or is outrage only reserved for members of the click?

By the way, unlike Jeff Martin who backed down from me, I went ahead and crossed Ben Holder's line.

I remember reading in the article about Jeff and Mary Johnson that Jeff admitted to blogging solely to anger others-- said it was his hobby. I should have always kept that in mind, everyone should. Unlike others who see blogging as a tool to further political agendas, promote causes, sell products, change the world for the better, give the world a glimpse of their creative writing skills, write a journal in the hopes of reaching someone of like mind... whatever the reason for publishing a blog, Jeff Martin blogs for none of those reasons... Jeff Martin blogs to hurt people.

Jeff Martin admitted against Dr Mary Johnson, perhaps not in so many words, that he blogs with the intention of hurting people. He blogs because he likes to upset people. And while I've seen a lot of great writing come from Jeff's keyboard it must never be forgotten why Jeff blogs. It must never be forgotten Jeff Martin, aka Fecund Stench, admitted so.

As to who wins or loses the suit... Don't concern yourself, just remember why Jeff Martin blogs. Who knows, maybe lawyers for C4GC will want to look up court records and newspaper articles concerning Johnson v. Martin.

Update Sunday, May 18, 2014: The problem for Jeff Martin was the context in which he wrote. Had Jeff been writing strictly posts in opposition to the actions of C4GC and got nasty so to speak, he would no doubt be covered under his rights to free speech. That is what we commonly call political free speech.

But Jeff Martin didn't stop there, not by a long shot.

Jeff Martin created what some believe to be a long running work of fiction and satire using real people and caricatures of real people as the subjects of his works. Often his work of fiction seemed to have no connection to ongoing political issues involving C4GC and/or its members. And he painted his characters in a very dark, twisted and forbidding manner. That is not and has never been considered political free speech.

It was through Mr Martin's ongoing series that I first became familiar with who Jodi Riddleburger is as previously I had not been keeping up with such things. Had I not already  been familiar with Mr Martin's style I might have thought him to be telling the truth. Only after meeting Ms Riddleburger a couple of years later did I learn she was nothing at all like Mr Martin portrayed her to be. As for her husband and the others involved in the suit I don't know that I've ever met any of them but I guess I could have and just not realize.

Now remember: this was completely independent of Jeff's political writings. And while many, if not most, would recognize the entire body of work as fiction and satire, individual posts taken on their own could be construed by readers not accustomed to Mr Martin's writings as being non fiction.

And there-in is the short rope Jeff Martin has tied around his own neck. Lawsuits built on works of fiction based on real people have at times stood up in court before. Don't be surprised if this one does as well.
