The Yvonne And Walter Johnson Saga: Part 5

If you're new to the series I recommend you begin with Part 1, Why Was Yvonne Johnson's Husband Banned From Practicing Law? and follow the links back to here.

In The Yvonne And Walter Johnson Saga: Part 4 I brought up North Carolina State Bar vs Walter T Johnson, July 2000  in which Yvonne Johnson's husband was suspended from practicing law for 6 months then his suspension stayed for 1 year provided Mr Johnson meet a list of 9 conditions including supervision buy an outside attorney approved by the North Carolina State Bar but none of those conditions letters (a) through (i) included restitution or repayment to victims.

Walter Johnson took $2,000 from Mary Bowers to represent Anthony G Clements Sr.
Walter Johnson took $700 from Curtis Scott.
Walter Johnson took $2,500 from Milton Alexis Williams Sr to represent Milton Alexis Williams Jr.
Walter Johnson took $2,800 from Ann Boyd to represent Tony Bullock.

It would be years later, after all these cases were tried and the defendants found guilty that Walter Johnson would face a sympathetic State Bar, sympathetic because Johnson, himself very influential in the North Carolina Democratic Party, had the power to make their own lives very miserable were they to become, in Walter's opinion, too tough on him. Even the state investigators assigned to investigate Walter Johnson have indicated they were intimidated by having to take on someone so powerful as Walter Johnson.

This would not be the last time Walter Johnson was suspended from practicing law.

And Yvonne, did she do the right thing and demand her husband make good? No, Yvonne Johnson continued to live the good life even going so far as to go along with Walter's scheme to form a corporation and place his and her personal property in the corporation's name in order to avoid seizure by the Internal Revenue Service. A corporation that is managed by Yvonne's daughter, Guilford County assistant District Attorney, Lisa Johnson-Tomkins. Yvonne and Lisa had to sign the paperwork to make that possible, that makes both of them  co-conspirators and accessories.

Ever heard the expression, "One ah shit wipes out a thousand atty-boys." It applies to the elites and lawyers as well. Well, it should. The Johnson family should be in prison, instead they run our city and our courts.

In The Yvonne And Walter Johnson Saga: Part 6 we'll discuss Walter T Johnson-- Reprimand. My detractors will cut and paste feeble attempts to prove me wrong but by the time I'm done with the stacks of documents I've got in store for you they'll have nothing with which to defend Greensboro City Councilwoman Yvonne Johnson.

And before I go allow me to leave you with this one question: How many people did Walter and Yvonne rip-off that state investigators never found out about? How many people never had the where-with-all or the means to file a complaint with the North Carolina Bar then follow through to make sure it was followed up on through what would become a years long process?
