It's Not Just Black People
Someone sent me the photo you see above just this morning. Now I get it, Black Lives Matter and I don't want to make white of that. But put that same shirt on a poor white man and the story remains the same: the people who run Greensboro don't give a damn about poor people.
If the people who ran Greensboro cared about poor people then no longer would Greensboro score 98 out of 100 cities in equality of opportunity! Yes, overall North Carolina and the South scores low but let's not excuse Greensboro's bad leadership by excusing other bad leadership. We don't have to be like them. (Results, joint study Stanford, Brown, and Harvard Universities.)
Like other Southern cities, the people who run Greensboro don't give a damn about the working classes, black, white, hispanic, asian, native american, martian, or otherwise. But Mayor Nancy Vaughan can always find the time to pose side by side with rich thugs like Rocky Scarfone.
But for some stupid reason too many white folks just don't get it. You cower in fear of poor black people while allowing rich white people to steal everything you own.
Meanwhile, Scarfone is holding hostage a $30 Million Dollar City of Greensboro downtown development project.
And you can bet Greensboro's working classes will pay dearly, making Mr Scarfone even richer than Greensboro's tax dollars have already made him.
