SSDD, Frogs, Pigs, And Economic Development

It's always the same old story on the pages of the Triad Business Journal:

"Of the three Triad cities, Winston-Salem is the leader in economic growth, placing 177th among midsize cities and 338th overall.

Greensboro placed ranked 201st among midsize cities and 393rd overall. High Point placed 191st amid midsize cities and 369th overall.

Of North Carolina cities, Charlotte has seen the most economic growth. The city placed second among large cities and No. 20 overall."

Greensboro always lags behind despite being bigger than High Point and Winston-Salem-- why?

The Greensboro City Council passed a $38.5 Million Dollar Economic Development Bond in 2016. Take a look at it:

So what did Winston-Salem do?

Go ahead, google greensboro economic development and then google winston salem economic development and see how the two stack up. In Winston-Salem they are beginning to wake up and understand that real estate development and economic development are not one in the same. But not here in Greensboro. Here in Greensboro our City Council still believe that lipstick on a pig will somehow transform that pig into something beautiful.

Write-in Billy Jones for Mayor of Greensboro and let them know you're not a frog named Kermit.
