The Yvonne And Walter Johnson Saga: Part 6

New here?  I recommend you begin with Part 1, Why Was Yvonne Johnson's Husband Banned From Practicing Law? and follow the links back to here.

Want to see something really strange? Check out this screen grab from the Guilford County Register of Deeds for 4311 King Arthur Place. That's where Yvonne Johnson and her husband Walter live. Notice under owner name the current owner is Lisa Johnson-Tonkins and 1 back is listed as Unknown Owner. How could they not know who the owner was, I remember when they built that house. Only when you click on the link for the Warranty Deed or Ownership History do you learn that Yvonne's home was previously owned by Lillian J Kennedy. If you click on the picture you can blow it up. The picture, not Yvonne's house.

But wait, it doesn't end there. By examining the ownership history and the warranty deed you will learn that Walter and Yvonne bought the home in 1971 and Yvonne, as executitor of the estate of Lillian J Kennedy deeded the home to Lisa Johnson-Tonkins and Shannon Johnson-Lackey in 2008. Was all this done to get out of paying back the almost $700,000 owed to the State and Federal governments?

From what I can ascertain, Yvonne and Walter deeded their home to Wadaran and Lillian Kennedy on June 30, 1988 and then passed it on to their daughters 20 years later. Were Walter and Yvonne already attempting to avoid seizure of personal property as early as 1988, just 4 years after Yvonne founded the non profit, One Step Further, Inc? I believe they were. I believe as early as 1988 Yvonne already knew that everything she owned was at risk because of her and Walter's professional missteps.

Now check out the document Walter T Johnson--Reprimand. While the reprimand took place in the year 2000, the events leading up to the reprimand began as early as 1994-- the wheels of justice grind slow. Especially when you're seeking justice against a member of the court-- the most protected class of modern day society who face judgement only by other attorneys, all members of the same clubs and fraternities nationwide. And what was Walter T Johnson fined for ripping off  a grand total of $9,600 from several victims? A lousy $50 Dollar fine.

It's hardly a wonder Yvonne and Walter continued to do just as they had been doing. Steal almost $10,000 and only pay fifty bucks to keep it-- who wouldn't want a deal like that? How about an honest woman who genuinely cares about the people she and her husband are claiming to be helping? An honest woman wouldn't want a deal like that and an honest woman wouldn't remain by the side of any man who would treat people that way.

But then Yvonne Johnson is a politician so who ever said she was an honest woman, right?

And what about this non profit, One Step Further, Inc, just what is it that they do? Well part of what they do is a 6 hour presentation with parents of teen offenders.  They also have Teen Court  which helps first time juvenile offenders avoid the regular courts and getting a record provided the make restitution.

Funny, Walter never made restitution, he just paid $50.oo and went on to rip-off even more clients. But that's a topic for the next installment and more documents from the State Bar and other sources.

Among other things, One step Further also offers sentencing services. As a matter of fact, Yvonne has been offering sentencing services since shortly after One Step Further was founded in 1982.

And therein was the problem for Yvonne and Walter: A ready made pool of victims for Walter to prey upon and nothing more than a slap on the wrist if he got caught. How could he not do it and satisfy their greed, lust for power and everything that came with it?
