Gonna be a big night at the liquor house tonight!
I think I'm beginning to see signs. Some nights the liquor house at 2603 Textile Drive is empty. Last night was one of those nights. But on Thursday night GPD was called no less than 6 times between midnight and 3 AM. Apparently the organization hinges around the driver of a black Chevrolet Trailblazer, NC tag number AMX 9596 and moves between various locations throughout Northeast Greensboro as things only get heated when he is around. That car was there the night Reginald DeMarcus Wrenn was murdered two weeks ago tonight.
I've twice e-mailed Chief Miller a means to solve the problem and each time he has failed to reply to my e-mails. Though he did reply to me this morning when I forwarded him what might be evidence in the murder investigation. In other words, he's getting my e-mails.
There appears to be no less than 6-8 men involved in the operation of this liquor house and most are not young men. Fred, the man renting the Section 8 house at 2603 Textile is said to be 54 years old. Other cars include a gold Mercedes Benz and a dark green Ford SUV, an Expedition, I think. Previously this same group operated on Sykes Avenue and Willard Streets and may still be operating on Willard Street as well. They have also previously operated on Easton Ave and several other streets always within walking distance for their under-aged patrons living in the nearby Greensboro City owned housing projects on Phillips Avenue.
Another example of the institutional racism and classism that has long destroyed Northeast Greensboro. And folks, just so you know, this is a redneck son of a Southern white sharecropper writing this piece and not some liberal educated Yankee talking down on the Southland.
I'm making this information public because this gang has operated at-will for many years in Northeast Greensboro and the Greensboro Police Department has either been unwilling or unable to stop them. Perhaps if others google that same tag number we can find out where else they go and bring an end to this once and for all, They're planning on having a big night at the liquor house tonight, Chief Wrenn. They're cleaning up and raking the yard, hauling stuff in and getting ready for another Saturday night just like the night that cost us the life of Reginald DeMarcus Wrenn. I don't know what you're planning to do but I'm planning to sleep.
