There was an article by Jodi Riddleberger in yesterday's print edition of the News & Record concerning George Hartzman's contention that Guilford County Tax reevaluations were rigged to make some property owners pay more in property taxes. To be perfectly honest, much of what George has been trying to say is over my head. Also, living in Northeast Greensboro it's not a problem for my family as our property values have been falling for decades as we, like our black and hispanic neighbors, are victims of Greensboro's long history of institutional racism and classism that has long destroyed Northeast Greensboro.
By the way, the illegal liquor house cranked up last night right on schedule then suddenly became empty as a ghost town. At Midnight, One, Two and Three AM it was deserted and it's deserted still. Weird.
What puzzles me is Guilford County's resistance to auditing the results. Meckenburg County used the exact same software and they hired 3rd party auditors back in May of 2012. Public records requests have shown obvious concerns and yet we have had no audit.
There are plenty of people in Greensboro's institutions of higher learning that are more than capable of carrying out such an audit and I would be more than happy to accept their results. That is, except for Professor Andrew Brod of UNCG who has had a years long feud with George Hartzman and cannot be considered impartial.
I mean, that would be like saying I'm impartial when it comes to Ed Cone, Robbie Perkins or Nancy Hoffman. The proof is already out there and there's no denying it.
