There's GPAC Costs And Then There's GPAC Costs

And sometimes they don't add up.

I must admit, I've been waiting for this one for months knowing all along what was going to happen. You see, while the cost estimates for building the proposed Downtown Greensboro Performing Arts Center might be correct as shown in this week's IFYI Part 1 from the Greensboro City Manager, The brilliant GPACers conveniently failed to mention what the City of Greensboro has already paid to buy and tear down the YWCA property where the PAC is proposed to be built.

Nor have they included the cost of buying the land and building Festival Park, and demolishing Festival Park to make way for GPAC as is shown in this "rendering" released by Walker Sanders of the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. Nor have they taken into account the potential loss of revenue the City of Greensboro faces from the closing of the park. But I'm sure the Community Foundation will be more than happy to rent their park-- just not for political causes or events the Elites might not enjoy.

You can see better views of what I'm talking about in IFYI Part 2. No matter how they try to sell it, it has become quite obvious their intention is to replace Festival Park with a new privately owned park, owned by the Fascist Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro which intends to stamp out political free speech in Downtown Greensboro while it can't even get enough supporters to fill the venue they are planning to build.

By the way, are they planning to buy the section of Summit Avenue that will be closed or are we supposed to just give away another downtown street to another filthy rich non profit foundation and eat the 3/4 $Million or more it will cost the taxpayers to move the street?

And the saddest part, I've come to believe the GPACers are so self absorbed they really don't know what they're doing is wrong.
